Born into a family of entertainers in the enchanting landscapes of Hawaii, Ronald Kynston Lee was destined to be an entertainer from early childhood. His journey unfolded as he honed his many talents through performances, music lessons, and a college degree in music from the University of Southern California. The rich tapestry of his early years provided invaluable exposure to industry professionals and opportunities to perform alongside some of the top names in the business. This experience broadened his skills across various music styles, setting the stage for a versatile and enduring career.
Embarking on a path marked by dedication and a thirst for learning, Ron began taking professional voice lessons, discovering an even broader market as a performer. His love for diverse music genres makes him a versatile entertainer, connecting effortlessly with audiences of all ages. Inspired by the premier singers and songwriters of the big band era, the fifties, sixties, and seventies, Ron's repertoire is a musical journey through time. His performances, adaptable to diverse audiences, have taken him from entertaining troops in Asia to winning a talent show judged by legend Sophie Tucker.
Ron’s musical accomplishments span stages, television, film, and numerous cruise ships such as Royal Viking, NCL, and Sitmar. From film scores for Trading Places, Airplane, and Stripes to sharing the stage with Neil Sedaka, Tony Orlando, Jim Nabors, Lola Folana, and Ben E. King, his reputation as a multi-talented professional grew. After returning to Hawaii, new opportunities emerged, including performing with Don Ho for five years, and entertaining at national conventions, and major private events. It was during this time that he married Margie, now celebrating their 35th anniversary, sharing a love of travel, golf, and cherished moments with family and friends.
Family circumstances led them back to the mainland, where Ron continued his entertainment career in North Carolina. However, a divine call to ministry redirected his path, leading him to seminary and a master’s degree in divinity. Ordained into ministry, Ron's life took on a new chapter as he connected with people through God’s Word and his music. While pastoring at several churches in Charlotte, an unexpected call to be senior pastor at Mililani Presbyterian Church in Hawaii led Ron back to his hometown. In 2018, after retiring from active ministry, he and Margie settled near Asheville in western North Carolina. Retirement brought the joy of travel, making new friends, and exploring new music opportunities locally and internationally.
The synergy of his love for music, technology, and connecting with people presents an exciting new chapter in Ron's amazing career. Wherever he appears, Ron engages and wins the hearts and admiration of his diverse fans.
